Field Notes: Things in the Mix These Days
The things I’m loving lately — from vintage finds to future escapes.
It’s been a moment since I’ve shared a Field Notes, and I’ve missed having this little corner of The Sunday Escape, a monthly dispatch of what’s catching my eye, shaping my taste, on my reading list and inspiring the next escape.
The past few months have been full in the best possible way. On May 1st, I married my best friend and the love of my life, and much more is coming on what was truly the most wonderful week of our lives. But after a season of wedding planning, work travel, a girls’ weekend in Sedona, and life moving at full speed, I’ve found myself craving the slow down and some soul-filling inspiration.
Less noise is really what I think most of us are hunting for, but the question is: how do we achieve that? By assessing our lifestyle, asking the right questions, and determining what’s truly in the best interest of our present and future selves. Lately, that’s looked like paying attention to the things that naturally earn a place in my life, even as small as the pieces that make their way into my suitcase, the rooms I want to be in, the finds I immediately save for later, the future itineraries I playfully map out, and the way I want to move through a season. These are the things in the mix these days.
So this month’s Field Notes is exactly that: a little edit of what I’m loving, reading, wearing, thinking about, and bookmarking for the months ahead. There are Escape Guides coming for Sedona, Cavtat, Croatia, and a few other places I’ve been working on but for now, consider this a little re-entry back into the beautiful things I think are worth paying attention to.
Things I’m Loving
Curating vintage and secondhand wardrobes for friends. What they don’t take, I’m adding to this collection. The list is well rounded, ranging from $10 vintage gems to designer secondhand pieces that make the case for not buying everything retail.
This hand cream is unreal. Post-40, I’ve become much more aware of taking care of my hands. Remind that tiny rituals = major payoffs.
I won’t stop talking about this face serum. I am obsessed.
Molly Baz does it again. This summer salad recipe is a must try.
These shorts might be the most complimented item in my closet. Snagged at Unique Samples sample sale.
The actual best at home spray tan - it’s the one I used ahead of my wedding after getting a truly scary bad spray tan from here. And this face bronzer is a new non-negotiable for me (and it doesn’t break me out.)
These slightly oversized straight leg jeans are giving solid 90s vibes and the compliments are off the charts. Bonus they’re on sale for under $80 and super soft.
The eye patches I swear by and work out in.
A girlfriend and I took a flower arranging class with the women behind Margot Blair, and it reminded me how much I love a creative class. Highly recommend finding one just for the sake of doing something beautiful with your hands and a dear friend.
These flats. They go with everything, and the former New Yorker in me wishes I had owned them in the city to throw into my bag. They are that good.
I purchased these glasses so fast it was unreal. Consider the eyewear game officially getting an update.
These sandals are under $50 and, while I’m not thrilled with where they’re from, they are ridiculously comfortable and somehow the perfect wedge height.
Pucci’s most recent runway collection. Dreamy in the most transportive, eclectic-drenched way.
For my red light girls, I cannot live without this portable red light therapy device. It comes with me on every trip.
This moment. Bravo to whoever captured this woman and her dog. May we all be blessed to be this fabulous at that age.
I’m slowly overhauling the health of our home, not from a place of panic, but from a place of just wanting our space to feel less filled with toxins and just healthier. Swapping bedding, removing unnecessary toxins, adding pieces like this air purifier and red light device that make daily life feel better. If you’re in this same season of life, I’d love to hear what you’re adding to your home.

Been thoroughly loving Masha’s posts on new designers we should have on our radar. Not only is it a discovery but also stimulates the personal style POV.
I always appreciate reading anything from Matt Grossman, but this recent piece was especially good.
Are we all becoming allergic to the word chic and the phrase cool girl? Likely yes. Loved Annie’s piece on how to shift away from the algorithm and back to your inspired self.
AI is such a complicated and important conversation, and one we should all be looking at more closely as it continues to become part of both work and personal life. I thought Helena made some really smart points here.

Where to Escape to Next:
We took a very spontaneous mini-moon to St. Barths, and The Escape Guide is now live. Highly recommend for anyone curious about the island but not necessarily looking for the full day-club scene.
I will absolutely plan a trip around this hotel at some point in the near future. The decor, immaculate and their Sunday excess? Sounds divine.

Cabana Magazine’s Travel Guide to Empordà has me craving a slow European summer trip, one with less tourist chaos, more long lunches, old stone, linen, and nowhere urgent to be.
Japan is still high on our radar and likely where we’re looking for our honeymoon. If you’ve been, I’d love to know your favorite part of the country or the best time of year to visit!
And with all of that, thank you for being here, thank you for supporting this little corner of mine. If you feel inclined, I’d love for you to subscribe.

My favorite place in Japan was Kyoto 💖 I wrote an article on my substack about traveling through Japan/Korea if you want to check it out! Since you want to do your honeymoon there, I highly recommend staying at Furuya Ryokan near Atami Beach where you can have your own private onsen ✨ Lmk if you have any questions!
